Take it with some salt though. Let’s not forget a Regal Wagon was also “spotted testing” years ago.

But for some odd reason, with the Buick badge and grille, it reminds me of a Peugeot in overall looks.

I’d be surprised if they bought it back. I suspect Buick will be almost all crossovers soon, with maybe one large sedan for their oldest, most-entrenched customers.

Doesn’t work as well with a buick grill as it does with a Vauxhall one.

Maybe they are going after some of the disillusioned Golf buyers with it? I must say I was very surprised when I drove my sister in laws new shape Astra the other week, felt very different from her previous shape one, you can really feel the added lightness when driving it!

If that’s true, and with the Buick grilles and badges it would be weird if it wasn’t, I am very pumped. I think the new Astra is a great-looking thing, and hopefully they can give it the performance to match.

Dug into it a little, don’t get too excited. Verano GS in China is NOT based on the OPC/VXR as speculated. It has a 1.5L Turbo with a 7-speed DCT, developing 124kW/166hp. And no, a manual transmission is not available.
If you can read Chinese: http://buick.com.cn/veranogs/#powe…
